MICROTherm is made specifically
for commercial-sized hot water heaters and boilers that maintain
temperature (i.e., not cold-start boilers). It works for all sizes of gas
or oil-fired systems, and is suitable for both heating and domestic hot
water production. It also functions with some steam boilers.
MICROTherm has proven itself in
thousands of buildings throughout the United States and Europe. It is
ideal for schools, municipal buildings, apartment complexes, hospitals,
hotels, nursing homes, office buildings, factories... any facility with an
appropriate boiler.
Installation by an authorized contractor is simple and involves
only electrical connections.
After installation, MICROTherm is programmed by
running a built-in test to determine at which economy factor (percentage
delay) the boiler should be set. This is done by setting four different
empirical factors and allowing the unit to run comparative tests,
analyzing each factor. The installer does not need to remain on premises.
The boiler runs its normal on/off cycle; MICROTherm
runs an on/off cycle
using one of the economy factors; the microprocessor collects the data,
computes the comparative analysis and stores the information to be
reviewed at a later date. When all four tests are complete, an indicator
LED signals that the tests are done. The boiler then operates in a
pre-installed condition until the installer returns and sets the best
economy factor as learned from the tests. No further adjustments or
maintenance of the unit are required.
A typical test is shown in the chart.
