MICROTherm is a microprocessor-based computer energy-saving device for every commercial sized gas or oil fired boiler that maintains temperature and-cycles on and off. MICROTherm saves fuel by functioning as the gatekeeper for the burner control circuit. When an ignition signal is detected, the microprocessor will either allow the "call" to pass through and fire up the boiler or else it opens the circuit and postpones the start of the on-cycle. The Requirements of the Building
Ascertained by tracking how long a burner is off before the call to ignite, and how long a burner remains on until demand is met.

The "Combustion Efficiency Factor"
A measure of the Efficiency of the heating unit, determined by a diagnostic test that MICROTherm performs when it is installed.

The Residual Temperature of the Water or Stream
Monitored by a pulse-frequency thermal sensor.

The result of this patented process is a more efficient form of operation: the elimination of unnecessary cycling and a reduction of total burning time. In addition, since the projected life span of a heating system is directly related to the frequency of ignitions, a decrease in the number of cycles will extend a boiler's life proportionately.
